Hey Rebel crew here is a bit more information about this coming weekend’s event:

Q: What should I pack in my gym bag?
A: 2 pairs of shoes, one pair running, one pair lifting, 2 – 3 t-shirts (especially if you workout hot ;), 2 shorts or tights, a skipping rope, a mobility tool, any support that you require (knee wraps, wrist wraps etc…) and anything that you like to train with?

Q: What should I bring for food?
A: If you are a protein drink person make sure to bring them along, but the key throughout the day will be to keep hydrated and eat small snacks like fruit, nuts or jerky.

Q: Warm up and cool down?
A: There will be an athletes area available to warm up and cool down in.  Make sure to use this area wisely and warmup and cool down with each workout.

Q: What time is the bus leaving the Rebel gym?
A: 6:45 am on Saturday Sept. 27th

Q: How much does the bus cost?
A: The bus will cost $50 per person, envelope is in the gym.

Q: What time will the bus return to Squamish?
A: The bus will pick us up at 4 pm and head back up the Sea to Sky.

Information taken from our Athletes email:

Q:  What team will I be on?
A:  You will find out who your teammates are on the day of the event.

Q: Where is athletes registration?
A:  Athletes will register starting at 8AM at the front desk of the facility.

Q:  Will lunch be provided?
A:  This year we are fortunate and excited to have paleo-friendly lunches provided by the Baron’s of Beef.  Lunch is included in your registration.  You will receive a lunch voucher at the time of registration.  It is recommended to bring additional food and drink for yourself as you’ll be spending all day at this event.

Q:  What else should I bring?
A:  Bring whatever equipment you think you will need in order to successfully perform the exercise movement patterns safely

Q:  Will we be given a description of each workout prior to competition day?
A:  No

Q:  Why are we not getting a description of each workout prior to competition day?!
A:  You will not be given any information about the workouts because that’s how we roll.  Don’t worry though.  The exercise movement patterns and workouts are all-inclusive and will be explained in detail 20 mins prior to the start of each workout in an athlete’s briefing.  All your questions about workout flow, movement standards, and rules will be answered at that time.

Q:  Are those sick limited edition Ruben’s Throwdown 2.0 Strike Movement tees included in our registration?
A:  No. These can be purchased by clicking HERE.  These shirts will also be available to purchase on the day but buying online is highly recommended so you can guarantee your sizing.

Q:  I have shoes to bring.  Where do I drop them off?
A:  Ruben’s Shoes will have a tent set up in the front where you can bring your slightly used shoes.  They accept all styles of shoes but please don’t bring snowboard boots, winter boots, or super high heels as those shoes are not practical in the Dominican Republic.

Q: Where do I park?
A:  On the weekend’s, there are a number of places for PARKING.  This link shows where those parking spots are.  Please note that the map shows a bunch of trees to the East of Hugh Street but that is actually now a parking spot for the WestCoast Express so you can park there.  Please do not park in our neighbours spots or the local business parking sports across the street as you may get a ticket or towed.

Q:  Can I bring my family or friends to watch me tear it up?
A:  Of course you can.  There will be areas for spectators to cheer and watch.
