Our 2015 Health and Wellness challenge is fast approaching.  This challenge is designed to provide guidance for changes in your life that will have long lasting effects on your overall health and well-being.

The challenge will officially begin on Monday, February 9, 2015 and go until Monday March 9, 2015.

Registration will be SUNDAY FEB 8, 2015 at 12pm at the gym. We will host a meeting to explain all the rules and details of the challenge as well as provide measurements and weigh-ins for those interested. We will also perform a benchmark work out for those who would like to measure their performance as well. At the end of the challenge, we will have another weigh-in, work out and measurement day on SUNDAY MAR 8, 2015 at 12pm.CrossFit_Pyramid

The challenge will be a daily point-based system with the possibility of earning extra bonus points.

POINT SYSTEM-DAILY

  • 2 Points for EXERCISE*
  • 2 Points for CLEAN EATING**
  • 2 Points for WATER CONSUMPTION***
  • 2 Points for SLEEP (7-8 hours MIN)
  • 2 Points for MOBILITY/STRETCHING

*Exercise means a MIN of 30 mins at an elevated heart rate
**Clean eating means: NO ALCOHOL, NO PROCESSED FOODS,
NO ADDED SUGARS- EATING WHOLE + NATURAL FOODS
***Water Consumption: MIN ½ your body weight in ounces (oz). PLUS Add an extra 20 oz for every hour of exercise. [General rule- MEN: 3L and WOMEN: 2L]

BONUS POINT SYSTEM

  • 1 Point per day for “QUIET TIME”*
  • 1 Point per day for Fish Oil consumption
  • 1 Point per day for NO EATING 2 HRS BEFORE BED
  • 2 Points per person that joins you for the challenge**

*QUIET TIME can be meditation, unplugging, thinking with a specific purpose for 10 minutes MIN.
**Spouses, friends, kids, etc- anyone that would like to participate in the challenge alongside you. They must pay the fee and are eligible for prizes.

EXTRAS

  • 1 cheat meal per week will be allowed without the loss of points
  • 1 alcohol beverage per week will be allowed without the loss of points

 

CHALLENGE COST: $20 per person

TOOLS: Specific Facebook page for those involved in the Challenge, Halfway point check-in, as well as nutritional and moral support along the way.

PRIZES: MANY prizes to be won – details to be provided at a later date.
